1. Eat healthy foods

There’s a popular saying “You are what you eat.” and it is very true.

What you put in your body has a direct impact on how you feel, how you look, and how you perform.

Eating more whole, healthy foods is the foundation of fitness. They improve your health, energy levels, and performance in the gym.

2. Get more sleep

Sleep is highly underrated and most of us like to think that we are doing just fine on 5 hours of sleep.

The truth is, sleep is an integral part of feeling well and performing optimally.

Many studies have shown that not sleeping enough is directly linked to obesity, heart problems, and developing metabolic syndrome.

The recommended for adults is 7 to 9 hours per night.

3. Eat more protein

Protein is a very important macronutrient as it provides the body with the building blocks it needs to grow and repair itself.

It also helps build and maintain muscle mass.

Aside from that, protein is very satiating and you should eat more of it if you’re struggling with hunger.

4. Stop with the “diets”

I’ll go right ahead and say it: diets are a waste of time and statistics show that 95% of the time they fail.

Getting overly restrictive with your nutrition for short periods of time will lead to weight loss, but you’ll gain everything right back once you’re off it.

5. Cut out the junk food

I’m all for the occasional treat and enjoying yourself to some extent when you’re out with friends or family.

But, if you truly want to get your fitness to the next level, try to cut the junk food as much as possible.

6.Drink more water

The human body is around 60% water and it’s safe to say that it’s crucial to drink enough every day.

Water provides many health benefits. Not drinking enough leads to fatigue, headaches, lack of energy, and more.
